The SVNK 1GBASE-BD LR BiDi SFP Optical Transceiver is a high-performance bidirectional (BiDi) optical module designed for Gigabit Ethernet long-reach applications over single-mode fiber (SMF). It supports transmission distances of up to 20 km using a single fiber strand, enabling simultaneous transmit and receive operations on one core. This significantly reduces fiber infrastructure requirements and lowers overall network deployment costs.

The transceiver is intended for interconnecting Ethernet switches, routers, media converters, and high-speed hubs across wiring closets, buildings, and campus backbones. It is ideally suited for long-distance backbone links and fiber-limited environments.

The module integrates a 1310 nm FP laser transmitter and a high-sensitivity PIN photodiode receiver, providing stable optical output, excellent receiver sensitivity, and reliable long-reach performance. Precision optical filtering enables bidirectional transmission over a single fiber while maintaining strong signal integrity and low bit-error rates.

Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) is supported via a 2-wire serial interface in compliance with SFF-8472, allowing real-time monitoring of temperature, voltage, bias current, transmit power, and receive power.

Housed in a compact, hot-pluggable SFP form factor, the module is designed for seamless deployment and broad interoperability across enterprise, cloud, and carrier-grade networking platforms.
